Back in December, we had a meeting in Evansville to discuss how we wanted to approach the upcoming season. It was a way for all of us to get on the same page. While we were at the meeting we covered some players that I had researched beforehand.

There were several players on my list that I wanted to run by our manager and see what he thought. One of the names was outfielder Matt Maher from Fairleigh Dickinson University.

Last season Matt hit .339 with 45 runs and 27 RBI’s. He also had a good season on the base paths by stealing 30 bases. During his career at Fairleigh Dickinson he had 201 hits and 71 stolen bases.  Last season Matt was Second Team All-NEC and Second Team All-New Jersey Collegiate Association.

During his time at Farleigh Dickinson, Maher studied communication and was a member of the Communication Honor Society.  He was recognized for his academic achievements, and his work both on and off the field.

We are looking forward to seeing Matt this upcoming Spring.
