An Evansville man on trial for attempted murder was allowed Tuesday to question one of the two police officers he is charged with allegedly trying to shoot.

Jerrme Cartwright, whose trial began Monday in Vanderburgh Circuit Court, is facing four charges of attempted murder, a class A felony, after he was arrested for allegedly shooting toward a group of people gathered in the 1000 block of Cherry Street, and later at two officers who arrived on the scene in December 2008.
