2010 Speaker: Actress Rosie Perez

(EVANSVILLE, IN) – Evansville’s Celebration of Diversity Distinguished Lecture Series is pleased to announce its guest speaker for spring 2010. Rosie Perez, choreographer, AIDS activist, and Oscar® nominated actress, will appear on Thursday, April 22nd, at The Centre.  The topic of Perez’s lecture will be, “I am Puerto Rican, just so you know.”

“We welcome Rosie Perez as the first Latina speaker for the Diversity Lecture Series.  Her appearance in Evansville continues the Lecture Series’ mission of bringing speakers to our community who will encourage us to explore the issue of diversity, broaden our horizons and inspire us all to think creatively about the future,” said Mayor Jonathan Weinzapfel.

Rosie Perez’s lecture is free to the public; however, tickets are required for admission. Tickets will be available at 10:00 a.m. on April 3rd at The Centre box office.  There will be a maximum of four tickets distributed per person.  Group tickets will not be available.  Upon request, tickets and seats will be set aside for anyone needing special accommodation.  The lecture will begin at 7:00 p.m. at The Centre, with doors opening at 5:30 p.m.
