I am heading into my 8th year as an Otters Host Family

I have great memories and funny stories about all my players that have stayed with me during these years. Having these players stay with me makes me feel closer to the game than just sitting in the stands and rooting for my favorite team. If you ask me who my favorite player is on the team it will always be the players staying with me. One Otter I hosted handed me his bat that he used to hit back, to back, to back homeruns with until it broke, I will always keep that bat. These players don’t make a lot of money so giving me a bat that gave him success made me feel special; he could have given it to anyone. I even had a player that would cook us dinners when we came home after games. I think the hardest part about being a host family is when the players either get released or the season comes to the end. These players become part of your family and it’s hard to say goodbye. Once you start hosting Otter players you will see how great these guys are on and off the field.
