While at the college coaches convention in January, I received the name of a player who was previously with an affiliated team. Jake Rogers was drafted in the 22^nd round of the 2007 June draft by the Washington Nationals.

Rogers is a six foot, 190 pound infielder who played his college baseball at South Dakota State University. During his two seasons in the Nationals farm system Rogers played mainly at second base but he also had a few games at third and first.

It had been 10 years between draft picks for South Dakota State but Rogers was able to put an end to that when the Nationals selected him in the 22^nd round.

Rogers is originally from Lewiston, Idaho.
