Indiana Schools May Avoid More Budget Cuts

INDIANAPOLIS - Public schools statewide had a $300 million cut in 2010, and state officials had warned schools to budget cautiously in case more cuts were needed in 2011. But Governor Mitch Daniels says the state's current assessment is that education will not have to be cut further.

Work on Fulton & Lloyd Project could be finished by October

EVANSVILLE - INDOT said the project is moving into its final phases of construction. Officials said westbound traffic on the Lloyd Expressway would be moved to its normal pattern as early as Friday.  Work is expected to be finished on the project by October.

Newburgh Man Accused of Dealing Meth

NEWBURGH, IN - Curtis Sallee, 25, is behind bars for allegedly dealing the meth from his home, according to the Newburgh Police Department. Officers allegedly found about 10 grams of meth hidden in the garage of Sallee's home.

SR 62 Closed Near Boonville

WARRICK CO., IN - INDOT said all four lanes of State Road 62 are closed coming into the west side of Boonville. Officials told us the posted detour uses State Road 61 out of Boonville to State Road 66, and then back north on State Road 261. The detour would add about 22 miles to the commute.

Police Use Taser to Subdue Naked Evansville Man

EVANSVILLE - Benjamin Belwood faces several preliminary charges after he was found naked just before midnight in the 1000 block of Eden Lane, according to a probable cause affidavit.  Police claimed Belwood fought officers as they tried to handcuff him, and a taser had to be used to subdue the man.
